Does Attraction Tickets Direct need to be ABTA bonded in order to protect
my purchase of attraction tickets with them?
No we do not need to be ABTA bonded to protect your attraction tickets
and there are two main reasons for this:
- Protection by credit card payment: Firstly, like many
caring companies we recommend that customers pay for their tickets on
a credit card as this offers complete protection on all your purchases,
not just theme park tickets!
- We sell real tickets: Secondly, Attraction Tickets
Direct issues real tickets rather than vouchers. These real tickets are
rather like cash and guarantee your entrance in to the parks 365 days
a year and that is under-written by Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando
and Busch Entertainment - so there is no need to be ABTA bonded.
So, do I have to pay extra in order to have that security?
Absolutely not, the security of your transaction and tickets is of the
utmost priority to us. At Attraction Tickets Direct we do not charge any
additional fee for the bank charges that we incur when processing your credit
card, nor do we charge anything at all for 'handling' or postage. The price
that you see for tickets is the price that you pay, and you have the added
peace of mind of receiving real tickets.
How do I get my tickets once I have paid over the phone / web?
Once your transaction has gone through, we send out the real tickets to
arrive with you within 7 days. All tickets are posted by Royal Mail Special
Delivery and so they can be tracked and are even insured. You will have
to sign to receive the package.
I'm still unsure, can you explain why you are not ABTA bonded, but still
show the logo?
ABTA bonding was created to protect situations where there is a lengthy
gap in time between a customer paying for their goods and then receiving
the product. The only time gap involved in buying our attraction tickets
is the time it takes to despatch them to you once you have paid. This is
a maximum of seven days using Royal Mail Special Delivery so that they can
be tracked and they are also insured.
ABTA stands for the Association of British Travel Agents and we are members
of their Partnership Scheme. This enables us to receive travel updates and
attend important industry events. When you book the package element of your
holiday (such as hotel and flights) it is very important that you use a
fully ABTA bonded travel agent for the reasons stated. This is because you
are paying for your holiday some time before you have received it. Should
the company you book through be unable to fulfil their service, such as
in the case of bankruptcy, ABTA will ensure that you get your money back;
a replacement holiday; or if you are mid-holiday, are able to return home
without incurring any charges. When you book your attraction tickets with
Attraction Tickets Direct, ABTA’s protection would be superfluous as you
are already protected by the security of paying on a credit card and the
benefits of Royal Mail Special Delivery until the tickets arrive. You then
have the further reassurance of receiving real tickets which are valid for
park entry, whatever happens – just ask Mickey and Hulk and Shamu!!
