Our Guide to Alcatraz and All Loops Double Decker Tour

Your All Loops ticket is valid for 48 hours (72 hours from 1 April 2012 onwards) and allows you to explore the city at your own pace. See the San Francisco from the top of an authentic English Double Decker Bus and hop-off at any of the convenient stops around the city. Explore, sightsee or shop before jumping aboard next bus. The All Loops ticket is valid for four different routes around the city and there is full narration on board ensuring you do not miss a thing!

  • Downtown Loop (departs daily every 15-30 minutes 9am to 5pm). Tour highlights include: Fisherman’s Wharf, Barbary Coast / Financial District, Ferry Building, South of Market, City Hall, Union Square, Chinatown, North Beach, Lombard Street and Pier 39. The loop takes around 90 minutes and you can hop on and hop off at any of the convenient stops giving you the chance to explore local attractions before continuing you’re your tour.
  • Golden Gate and Sausalito (departs daily on the hour from 10am to 5pm). Tour highlights include: Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, the Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Bridge, Vista Point, Presidio National Park and the mansions of Pacific Heights. One of the highlights of the San Francisco area is Sausalito, a picturesque waterfront community, world renowned for its Mediterranean flair and breathtaking views. The tour includes a stop there for you to enjoy its galleries, shopping, bay views and its many restaurants.  The loop takes around 2 hours.
  • Golden Gate Park Loop (stops at Golden Gate Park only; departs at 10.30am and 2.30pm). Depart from Union Square and travel along Geary St, passing St. Mary's Cathedral and San Francisco's Japantown. Also see Alamo Square, home to the world famous ‘Painted Ladies’ Victorian houses. The bus then whisks you towards the beautiful Golden Gate Park where you can visit such renowned attractions as the De Young Museum, Japanese Tea Gardens and the new California Academy of Sciences which features an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum and more all under one “living” roof. before returning to Union Square via the famous Haight Ashbury district.
  • Night Loop (Not hop-on/hop-off; Nightly at 6pm) Departing from Union Square, or Fisherman's Wharf, this one hour tour of San Francisco includes the best of the city by night. See the Financial District, Chinatown, North Beach and Embarcadero among the highlights. Depending on the time of year it may not be dark when this tour takes place

Do I need to detail a specific date for my tour?
The All Loops Tour portion of your ticket can be used at any time and is valid for 48 hours from first use (72 hours from 1 April 2012 onwards). Advance reservations are required for Alcatraz due to the limited availability of tickets.

Where do I collect my tickets from? 
Attraction Tickets Direct will issue you with a ticket voucher. This must be exchanged at the redemption office in Fisherman’s Wharf for your All Loops Ticket and Alcatraz Ticket. Full details will be given on your voucher.

Is there a limit to the number of times I can get off and re-join the tour bus?
No, you can get off and on the buses as many times as you like over a 48 hour period (72 hours from 1 April 2012 onwards).

Terms and Conditions

  • This ticket must be booked at least 7 days in advance of your planned visit to Alcatraz.
  • Your ferry ticket for Alcatraz will normally be between 3pm and 4pm on your chosen date.
  • You must collect your Alcatraz tickets from the CitySightseeing Office before 10.00am on the day of your visit to Alcatraz. Please note the exact time of your visit to Alcatraz cannot be confirmed until this time.
  • The All Loops Tour portion of your ticket can be used at any time and is valid for 48 hours from first use (72 hours from 1 April 2012 onwards).
