Our Guide to Hatta Mountain Safari

Your day starts with a scenic journey across the Arabian Desert in a luxury 4-wheel drive as you head towards the rugged Hajar Mountains. Here you enjoy an exciting drive through winding gorges and along dry river beds (wadis). Enjoy wonderful views of ochre-coloured mountains, imposing cliffs and the occasional waterfall as you wind your way towards Hatta. The area is famous for natural freshwater pools and weather permitting, there is a chance to take a refreshing dip in the cool turquoise waters.

Afterwards, continue on to the ancient fortress village of Hatta, famous for its sixteenth century fort. Explore the heritage clay village and see the historic fort, the former home of the old Sheikh of Hatta and traditional oasis, mud and barasti houses which date back 300 years. Enjoy a relaxing lunch at a Hatta hotel before heading back through the mountains and across the desert to Dubai.

The luxury 4WD vehicles used are air-conditioned and carry a maximum capacity of 6 passengers plus driver. All drivers are qualified off-road professionals; first-aid trained and carry mobile phones. All vehicles are equipped with seat-belts and passengers are required to wear them at all times.

This safari trip takes you through rugged routes intended to create an adventurous and exciting experience. Therefore, this excursion is not recommended for children under the age of three years, expectant mothers and over 65s. It is also not recommended to people suffering with heart conditions and back/neck problems.
