undefinedundefinedHas any body heard of either Ocean-Florida or Travelox, as far as I am aware they are one and the same company but they quoted me a price for Orlando for April 2006 which was suspiscously low and I wondered if anybody had either heard of them or dealt with them

Travelox always quote cheaper than other companies, this is there selling technique, when you go back to book they then add on things like tax, airport security, credit card charge, ticket on departure charge. You would of probably rung about 20-30 companies and can't be bothered to call any more so you would just accept the charges. I know how they operate I worked there for 2 years and left cause I hated people being stung at the last minute!!!!!

Hi, I have just booked for Easter 2006! The price I was quoted is the price I have paid. Having spent many hours on the net trying the find reasonable package deals for 2 adults and 3 kids, this quote was by far the cheapest and included everything we needed.
Looking forward to our second visit to Florida!!

I would avoid Travelox..............They qoute low price then add on extras and overcharge.. I was quoted 289 all inclusive to magaluff i was assured this meant all costs included. When i booked they added £10pp booking fee £15pp ticket on departure fee (even though holiday was 3 weeks away) and debit card 2% card fee.
When i finally booked they phoned back telling the flight price had gone up 20pp unless i wanted to fly at 2am and come back at 3am.
Very annoyed i still went ahead and booked........... just found out they now charged me an extra £100 for the total booking for 4 people............Ive spent last 4 days trying to get in touch and find out why........ They tell you they phone you back and never do......

Like you I have just had a quote done which is around £2000 cheaper for July next year - Im now very uncertain given other comments, whether to go for this or not. I have asked them to provide a full breakdown of all the costs before I go ahead, and then perhaps if I agree, I will only agree on the basis of the quote given, - Im really not sure now!

If you get a full break down on the costs and get it in writing before you pay then you should be ok as you have evidence and an agreeded price in writing. But dont be suprised if they phone you up a week b4 you go saying the flights/accomodation have gone up.
If you do book make sure you ask them if the agreed price you have been given can change in anway.
I booked my holiday last week over phone and although i agreed a price verbally they have added on an extra £60 pp which i only noticed when i got my bank statement. Trying to get it sorted out but they keep on passing me on to different departments, no one wants to know.....

Following The Mixed Comments On This Page I Booked My Florida Holiday With Ocean-florida Who Saved Me Over A Thousand Pounds And Asked My Sales Consultant Why I Wasn't Charged Extras When Others Do. He Said Ocean-florida Is A Different Trading Name Altogether And Therefore Have Different Policies And Deals. Ocean Florida Charge A Booking Fee Of £10pp And That Is It He Said. As For Their Head Office (travelox) That Predominantly Sells Short Haul Holidays They Add On The Extras Such As Ticket On Departures, Fuel Supplements And Security Fees.
I Guess The Morale Of The Story Is To Book Your Florida Holiday With Em You Wont Have A Problem But If You Are Booking Something Short Haul Triple Check The Total Cost Before Booking. Needless To Say, They Are Really Cheap And Seem To Be Especially Good On The Florida Side.

Hi,
I have booked with Ocean Florida for a xmas break to Orlanda and have paid the price they quoted. They could not have been more helpful and even pointed out that if I paid on my credit card instead of my debit card there would be a 2% charge. They have not tried to sell me any xtras such as their insurance etc. which is quite refreshing,

welcome to the forum gemma123456. Have fun posting!!!
I agree, it sounds suspicious that company, i would rather pay more for a reputable company then a company who i dont know & are substantially cheaper.
Thats why i stay with what I know & the companies i know!!!
