In the year 2000 I was arrested for smoking cannabis, but with no conviction and in 2001 I was convicted of an offence of threatening language and behaviour. I am extremely regretful I both incidents which are not only an embarrassment on character, but may drastically effect my future. As I am 24 now and am about to graduate from University this summer I may apply for work in the US or may just like to travel there, but am worried I would not be granted entry. What kinds of crimes to people get refused entry for? Would it be better to leave it a few more years? Is there anything I can do that may help to get a visa? How will it affect my chances of ever getting a visa if I am refused? Does it help in any way that I have travelled to the US on many previous occasions twice spending 6-10 weeks there?
If you could please give me any information regarding any of the above that would great.

My son was 15 years old when he got into trouble by having an argument with his estranged father. During the argument he said to his dad "i'll kill you one day for what you did to my mum" (idle threat from a 15 year old kid who had seen his mum beaten by his dad and hospitalised)
I applied for a visa for him as i had been told if anyone who has been in trouble tried to enter the country..the whole party would be refused entry. My 6 year old had won a 2 week trip to go to Disneyworld.
I had to take him for an interview in London (we live in the north of England) where he was told he was not being given a visa as he could not prove he would come back to England (???)
I had to re-apply by post and pay another fee...this application was not even looked at until 3 months after the rest of the family had been and come back. The answer was still no and he was informed if he ever wanted to apply for a visa in the future he had to indergo a medical examination with a doctor of their choice at his own expense, as he may constitute a danger to himself or others !
