Another tip, and I am not joking, is take some immodium. Virtually everyone gets a jippy tummy at some point on their trip - you can't avoid it, even drinking bottled water, avoiding ice in your drinks, salad etc etc. Somehow, you will get it LOL.
Another tip is take lots of money to tip!!! They expect tips for absolutely everything, and I mean everything. It is easy to spend a fair bit of money on tipping alone - and if you don't tip you get really rubbish service lol.
Also a must do is visit Cairo and see the pyramids at least. And watch out for the people selling you items, they have the funniest banter - quoting things like Cheap as Chips and the Asda jingle. (Well it amused me lol). :D :D :D

we had a great time at sharm el sheik.
didn't dive but saw plenty of colourful fish(think finding Nemo) just snorkelling. we went in august and it was scorchio hot.
you will get dodgy guts, we went to local pharmacy and were right as rain within the day!
we found it hard to spend money as you will if you are all incl. tip at the end of your hol.
take a taxi ride for a thrill/scare!!!
the driving test there is show you can drive forward and reverse, they don't use headlights for fear of running down battery. they pay no attention to lanes etc. or no. of seats in car.
hope you have a great time.

Hi MarkSarahL
Couldn't fault the hotel, fantastic. Very clean, staff ever so friendly. Rooms are very spacious.
Food was faboulous. Large selection of everything you could wish for. They had Theme Nights in the buffett restaurant every night and there is a Italian restaurant that you could use once.
Location is about 10-15 minutes transfer from the Airport and the main city centre Nama Bay (think thats how you spell it) is about a 30 minutes drive away - The hotel did put on a coach with varoius departure & pick up times - £1 each
Entertainment is by First Choice reps in the day and in the Evening.
The only bad thing was the occassional airplane going overhead (flying low either landing or taking off) but there wernt many to disrupt the holiday.
Any more info on the hotel please ask, and i have some photos somewhere too
