car seat

We go in 6 weeks!! My sister's family is coming too and taking her grandson who is 19 months and will require a car seat. I was wondering if anybody had taken their car seat with them and did it fit in the car. We are in a bit of a dialema, do we take his car seat or hire one? can anybody please help? :confused:

it would be best to contact your car hire company directlly as they may have different regulations to others.

Im sure someone else on here will be able to offer more advice

I've taken booster seats for my own kid's before. He's a bit young for one yet. My sister has contacted the hire company. I just was wanting personal experiences and advice.

we went in 1999 and my brother-in-law hired a car seat (dollar) for his daughter who was 3 at the time and the seat was some what basic, there was no cover on it just a grey plastic seat which we had to put a towel on so as she didn't scald herself when sitting on the plastic. :mad:
when we went in 2002 when my daughter was 5 months old we took our own car seat with us, (virgin) and as an infant she wasn't entitled to a luggage allowance but they did allow for a pram and a car seat :)
also in 2005 we took our own car seat with us (it was one of them 2 peice seats, booster seat with a back) which we had to put in her suitcase.(my travel)
in our own experiance we have had no trouble takeing our own car seat and with fitting them in US car/mini van
we are going again in 6 weeks (TCD) and i intend on takeing our booster seat with us, which will again be packed in the suitcase (when we get to the airport as we will need it for the taxi ride)

Thanks for your help, my sister has decided to take her own seat. We also go in 51/2 weeks with TCD. Feb 17th . What date do you go? :)

staying at bass lakes (villa)

there are 13 of us going, staying in 2 villas so should be a great holiday
