Hi All,
Anyone out there know how long to expect it to take to clear immagration/customs at Sanford Airport? i'm travelling end of September. Also do you do this before baggage reclaim?

I have only flown to Orlando Sandford once, Sept 2002.
Immigration Q was long and it took about an hour. - A couple of flights landed around the same time.
At US Customs all you do is hand in the customs form you will be given either on the plane or at check in ( 1 per family)
All this IS before baggage reclaim.
**TOP TIP**
Get off the aircraft as quick as possible and walk quickly to get as near the front on the immigration Q as you can ... it makes all the difference of having 30 people in front of you or 250.

Hi We have been to Sandford five times and in all the longest it took was 45 minutes. Like Mr O said if you can get to the head of the queue you'll get through quicker. Make sure you have all the forms filled in correctly. The green waiver for every member and the white forms one per household.

hi all
are the new fingerprint scanners and webcams all up and working now?
and does this speed things up or slow them down?
only small piece of advice is make sure you take your own pen for the forms :)

I have passed through Sanford many times over the years and never had a problem getting through customs. Can only recall one delay in 1998 when three aircraft from the UK touched down at approx the same time and it happened to be an extremely warm day.
Collecting the hire car is usually more hassle. Expect to waste a hour before you get on the open road. When heading south towards International Drive or Kissimmee, drive direct to the i4 Hwy instead of the instuctions given by the hire companies. There are no tolls on the Hwy and it is quicker
