Hi, has anyone got information or reviews about Air Atlanta Europe. I`m flying with them in October from Manchester to Sanford. The holiday is booked through Travel City Direct, and I thought it was quite cheap when I booked it, now I`m getting worried that the flight is going to be a nightmare.

We used Travel City Direct Christmas 2002. That flight was with Air Atlanta.
We booked the upper deck, which was the same seating as economy the difference was pre booked seats, extra luggage and the upper deck was for over 14's only.
The flight was fine, food was good and the attendants where as helpful as you would expect.
The in-flight entertainment was ok with a couple of movies each way.
There were no head rest T.V.s So the usual problems trying to see the closest drop down T.V.
All in all the service was good.
The only complaint was that they did change the departure time of the flights a few months after we had booked (only by 1 hour I think), which meant we could not use one of the connecting flights that we had booked separately.

Travel City use Air Atlanta Europe and they are absolutely fine. I wouldn't buy your attraction tickets through travel city though as you definitely want to be getting actual tickets (that attraction tickets direct supply) rather than vouchers which you'll have to queue to exchange in Florida

Hi, we flew with Air Atlanta (through TCD) went first two week July. Apart from the headrest tv's just as good as Virgin. Only hitch was waiting for bags at Sanford and Gatwick but thats gound staff problem not airlines and all other flights had to wait. Booked for next year with same company so it can't have that bad!

I did not like this flight at all. there was a 5 hour delay at gatwick and 10 at sanford. no seatback T.V's. I have flown with delta, Virgin(mostly) or BA ever since.

We are at Gatwick as I type. We got here at 08:30 as requested to find they had rescheduled the flight to 3:30pm (maybe) because it needed maintenance. No Air Atlanta staff in sight, novouchers, no informations.
People around us are telling nightmare stories about 24 to 48 hour delays with this bunch!!
Never, ever flying Air Atlanta again

Another good weekend for Air Atlanta. 19 hour delay on the return flight Sanford/Gatwick. Should have got back Saturday and eventually turned up Sunday. Seem to have a major problem virtually every week from one airport or another.

I used TCD this summer and we did have a 2 hour delay going and a 1 hour delay returning I could not fault the service we had, I am sure if you check with all airlines there will be delays, compare their prices to BA or Virgin, I would say for the price they are unbeatable.
I am going with them again next year.
Cheers, Dan.

Hi Everyone,
I fly to Sanford with Travel City Direct twice each year and have flown with Air Atlanta on no less than 4 occasions. The service is absolutely great, with pleasant staff, nice food (for any airline !) and have only had 1 delay of 4 hrs. A lot of this time was made up during the flight and we arrived at Sanford 2.5 hrs late.Even when I have flown with TCD on their branded aircraft, these planes are owned and operated by AAE and are very very good value for money as opposed to Virgin whose price is just ridiculous for basically the same service as AAE. If people read bad reviews, they are going to expect the worst. I just go with the flow on the day of departure and, touchwood, all has been ok.
Give AAE a try, you will be pleasantly suprised .
best wishes

Yeah dont do it mate . Just got back from a trip to Cyprus yesterday and the service was attrocious.
Unclean aircraft with faulty lights, seats, entertainment, delays, all ofcourses someone elses fault.
Would and will avoid this airline like the plague.

I've just returned from Orlando (every time we go it gets better and better!). We booked Travel City Direct and when we got our tickets saw we were flying with Air Atlanta. After reading these and other reviews I was convinced we were going to have the flight from hell and cursed myself for saving £800.
However, after a delay of 5 hours on the way out (where I convinced myself I had been right) we had been allocated upper deck seats with extra legroom (not requested or paid for) and had the best flight we have ever had. Lots of room, great service, only 60 people with no young children. So what if there are no seat back TVs - my 10 year old daughter managed to keep herself entertained and I don't think they are worth £800!
Flight back was perfect - on time and again those upper deck seats. I would have no hesitation in booking with TCD and Air Atlanta again.
Previously we had flown with Virgin but last time we went I was not impressed - very little leg room, not very good service and £800 dearer than TCD - not really worth it. Whilst obviously with the complaints there are problems, it is only your journey there and back. My advice is just go with the flow and hope for the best. :)

Just got back from two weeks in Orlando with Travel City Direct. Went from Gatwick 6/10/05, flying Sunshine First Class. What can I say? Absolutely terriffic!
Sunshine First is worth every penny. Boarded the plane, and was directed left. Saw the seats, and thought "hmm, these are ok", then looked for my seat number. It was then that I realised that we had to go through the next curtain, and WOW! Welcomed on-board with a glass of champagne (or orange juice), choice of newspapers and magazines, in-flight entertainment unit, etc. Absolutely first class service, the most attentive and friendly cabin crew we have ever had.
The flight was about half an hour late leaving Gatwick, not sure why, we were not made aware of any problems, so I guess it was just down to getting everyone on-board, as we started boarding at the correct time.
Arriving at Sanford, we got off, and with the exception of the usual delays through passport control, were pleasantly surprised to see all the Sunshine First and Sunshine Premium Upper Deck cases come around the baggage reclaim carousel first. All (at least the Sunshine First anyway) had Air Atlanta Priority labels on them, which was great, allowing us to get our bags, then over to the Dollar car rental area. With the car picked-up, we made our way to the hotel for a magical fortnight.
Totally Mickeyed-out, we checked our bags in at the TCD Lake Buena Vista site, allowing us to get on with the rest of our last day without having to lug everything around. Dropped off the car, went through security, and into the airport lounge.
Flight back was about half an hour late boarding, and once on-board was subject to a delay whilst engineers had to work on a problem on the flight-deck. In total, we took-off 1.75 hours later than scheduled, though I must say that the captain and crew kept everyone on-board fully up-to-date with what was happening, which helped. They started the in-flight entertainment to keep everyone's minds occupied.
If you can afford the upgrade to Sunshine First, DO IT!
I must admit that after reading all the postings on here about TCD, that my wife and I were starting to get really worried. Our fears were completely unjustified. It made for a perfect start and end to our holiday, leaving us to get the two weeks there right, which we did! (hint: for a great hotel, try Disneys Port Orleans Riverside - absolutely first class!)

cant understand why tcd dont upgrade from the 747 300's which they have constant prob's with to at least 747 400's there a bit newer so may not have the continous faults?. i hope my flight goes ok with them in sept :( . can you tell by the flight code who you will be flying with, mine starts with 5a

We used them last year in may and altho there were no delays and the food was good, the actual aircraft was a boneshaker. A couple who sat near the exit door had a bottle of water standing near the door and when the chap went to drink out of it the water had frozen. This made for a worriying rest of the flight being over the atlantic and 4 hours into the flight. The plane was so old it was untrue. BUT bear in mind that you are only in the air for approx 17 hours for all that fun in the sun (both ways). TCD itself is a very good company to use tho.
I will definately use them again.

Wonder will My Travel order a 380 ? Bet they would cram 900 people on board to make it pay. Anybody know when the first 380 will go into service ?
