Hi all!

We are preparing to take a trip over to the UK and France, but found a wonderful flight deal to Dublin from the US, so decided to stop there first.

We only have one day, really, but we arrive at 5am and will have the whole day and an overnight stay. We have a few things on our must-see list but, given our limited time and desire not to travel beyond Dublin this time around, I would love some input!

We do want to see the Guinness Storehouse, Kilmainham Gaol and have lunch at a nice pub. We are taking our 14 year old son with us as his first overseas trip, so the pub needs to be family-friendly while still being authentic. ;)

If you are familiar with Dublin, can you tell me if the bus tour that allows you to get on and off is a good deal? We also thought about getting the pass that allows you to visit several attractions along the bus route. Is that a good idea?

What would you recommend? I'm open to any useful information you can give me! :)

Hello Susan. Great to hear your visiting Ireland, even if it's just a short trip. I live North of the border unforuently. I'd certainly recomend the tour of Dublin city. You can purchase your discount tickets at the airport. Some really nice bars in the Temple Bar area and most will allow your boy in. Guinness tour is worth doing but 2 hours will be more than enough time, unless your hubby likes Guinness !
I'll have a think about other attractions and post some details later. My interests are cars, bikes and sport so a bit limited
