New Coaster for Blackpool Pleasure Beach, gets maiden Voyage

New for 2007 is suspended looping coaster INFUSION, an exhilarating infusion of the elements, soars to amazing heights and takes riders through a whirlwind water experience to amaze and astound the senses.

Get ready for a totally new age experience for white knuckle thrill seekers at Britain’s favourite tourist attraction with cascading walls of water and sky high, heart-stopping, fabulous fun!Five incredible loops and rolls, a looming lake glitters below, a deliciously wicked double line twist and awesome water effects all in one cool suspended looping coaster.

The excitement’s gaining momentum and so is Infusion as Pleasure Beach’s new ride went out for its maiden voyage on Thursday 22nd March.

Infusion’s gleaming carriage left the cosy confines of the ride station and mapped out the journey which thousands of thrillseekers will enjoy this season.

The test ride was part of the commissioning of Infusion, which is currently being undertaken by ride manufacturers Vekoma.

The white knuckle wave is set to open this Spring.

Amazing how well you can talk up a recycled ride from the park you suddenly shut after years of under investment. Well done Amanda.

Well I live in Blackpool........someone has got to ! ;)

We're going to BPB next weekend, along with the hoardes.

But basically it IS the Traumatizer, spray painted a different colour (now Blue) and it's having some water put underneath it to make it a Nemesis style ride.

Traumatizer was an OK ride, for where it was! Southport PL was never a great park, so I guess it did its job.

I can understand peoples' fury at closing down Southport PL - they literally closed it one day putting lots of people out of work. Then they have taken this ride, squashed it into BPB and want to take glory for it.......

It *sounds* fab, but at the end of the day, I don't think anything at BPB will be better than the Big One.

http://www.rideinfusion.com/ - here's a direct link to the "new" ride.

Hth someone!
