Fly-drives with TCD

Travel City Direct have just announced their latest deals for Florida fly-drives for June, and there look to be some great dals - if anyone can take advantage at short notice. Here's what they say:

Departing on the 2 June from Gatwick, price includes return flights and two weeks car hire with third party car insurance. Based on 2 or more persons travelling.

Florida Fly-Drive Special offer - 2 weeks for the price of 1 on departures up until 30 June 2007 – For departures from Gatwick to Florida on 14 night fly-drive escapes.

The only problem with TCD is that you seem unable to book more than 2 weeks. :(

I think you can book longer, but you have to call them for a tailor-made holiday rather than their usual off-the-shelf version. Unfortunately, virtually all the tour operators work on just 1 and 2-week flight durations, so they can account for the same number of people on the flight there as the flight back. A 3-week duration (which few people ask for) would not fit into their usual 'system.'

I phoned them a few weeks ago for a quote for my friend, she wanted to go for 7 days and they told me they only do 14 days. So i 'm pretty sure they won't do 21 days duration.

I asked as well over the phone and was told that they only do 2 weeks.

We are thinking of using TCD for a flydrive next year when we go back as we will book the acc independantly woth disney and universal, i know they get mixed reports but delays can hapen with any airline, and at the end of the day its only a flight!

I think that's a fair summary, Karrie. I am very surprised, to put it mildly, to see TCD only offering 2-week holidays, though. I would have thought they are missing out on a few bookings that way :confused:

I also phoned them when I was booking as we wanted to go for 3 weeks and they said that they only do 2 weeks so I booked with Virgin :)

Thats a shame, I was seriously considering them for next year :( Looks like i'll have to look elsewhere.

Hi Guys,

We travelled with TCD in August of 2005 and when we went to the travel city office half way though our holiday, we were greeted by a lovely girl, my dad said we were having a great time and no way wanted to go home ...and she said we can book you in for longer if you want.... so perhaps its somthing you have to do while on your two week break. We never stayed although we would have loved to.
