There are three very good sites you can check for train journeys. We can say this with confidence as we spent several months researching online travel earlier this year for a new book in the Silver Surfers series :D Here is quick snippet as it relates to non-UK train travel:

"For travel in Europe and beyond, a similar process applies with www.internationaltrainline.com, while there are also two other specialist booking companies.

1) Rail Europe (or www.raileurope.co.uk), who sell tickets for a wide range of European services, including Eurostar, the French TGV trains and other high-speed services.
2) Great Rail (or www.greatrail.com), for a huge range of journeys worldwide, including Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Italy, Greece, South Africa, India, Japan, the USA and Canada, and even the Trans-Siberian Express."

If you try any of those, you should be able to get a pretty idea of what you need :)

Cheers for the info simon - looked at the site just now- very good, but a tad expensive.

I think ill fly over - cant go wrong for £86 return inc taxs + charges. The train journey was £80 each.
