Can anybody tell me if we buy the Nintendo DS whilst in Orlando whether it is compatible with UK voltage or can we buy a transformer when we get back to the UK to make it compatible.

It is not compatable with UK voltage, but Simon's boys recharge theirs using a convertor when they're here in the US, so I imagine you can do the same in the UK.

i can help you out with this one!if you buy the nintendo ds lite in any of the us stores you will be supplied with the us adaptor.always usefull if you visit on a regular basis but no good what-so-ever in the uk.if you want to us it in the uk all you need to buy is the uk power supply that you can easily pick up on ebay for about £5 delivered.when checking around i found that walmart is doing an offer for$149.99 of a ds lite(any colour)a game(from a selection)and an accsesory pack.works out with tax at about £80 which saves around £30 in the uk market.im going to get a couple and will be picking the big brain academy game as im starting to feel the slowdown.hope this has helped.the sony psp is also the same all you have to buy is a lead to the power supply(normal figure of 8 cord)

one thing i will say is if you are going to get a ds is...... buy your games over in the U.S they are much cheaper and they also have titles you won't get over here.
when we went in feb we spent a small fortune on games and accessories, they have a great selection in walmart.
although now we have one of them special;);) cartridges, saving even more money

i take it the games will all work ok, i know a lot of systems use region discs like dvd's do so that they will only work in the same region the console is from, but i believe the nintendo ds and psp games all work from anywhere?
can anyone confirm this as i'm sure my daughter will be wanting to stock up when we go next year!! :)

PSP games from the States definitely work here. Not sure about DS but i'm sure they would be ok too :happy-thumb

All the hand=held games are fine to buy in the US and will work worldwide. It is only the console games like the PS2 and Xbox which have different 'regions' which prevent you using games from the US in the UK. The Nintendo DS (and all games) is fine to buy over here :)

we bought Ds games and they were half the price that we pay here for them.

As a rough guide, you can currently expect to pay in $$s what you pay in pounds back home.

And I think they have more choice than we do here
