Hi
When I was 18 I was caught by British Rail for ticket evasion, and prosecuted. This was 22 years ago, does anyone have any idea if this means I need a visa?
Thanks
Carl.

hi,
yes it states you will need a visa, i know this as i am now having the same problem.two ways of doing it,i spoke to us embassy tel 09055444546 £1.30 a min they said i do, dont matter if charged or not even arrested and not convited still need one.you will need court papers from the court you went to to see if they still hold any thing on you, can take upto 10 weeks for info plus police check, get in touch with local police station they will give you form to fill in costs £10 once you have all info phone embassey for appointment at london to apply for visa which costs £60.or do what i was told to do and apply for police check if it comes back clear no need to apply for visa as the police told me if minor affences they dont show up as such a long time ago.we did go last year not relising about this and had no problems.choose is yours but alot of hassle, will need a holiday when your finished.good luck
