Hi jojo
Have you tried a DIY? We are going in Feb for 3 weeks. I have booked my flights through Virgin Holidays (sorry mr o!!!) as a flydrive. We haven't taken any car insurance with them and won't bother with the car. I booked our car through usrentacar as it was much cheaper than taking virgins car. We've probably saved around £250 by booking things this way. Virgin holidays flydrive was cheaper than virgin atlantic flights! I even beat my TCD quote!

We always look for flight-only prices to start with to see if they come up cheaper in the first instance, then add on car hire from Alamo (with the Brit's Guide discount ;) ). Then we look at all the different tour operators to see how they compare for fly-drive and even package prices. It sounds like you are doing the right things already, though.
The sites we tend to look at for flights are:
www.travelsupermarket.com
www.kayak.co.uk
www.opodo.co.uk
www.expedia.co.uk
ww.skyscanner.net
www.dialaflight.co.uk
www.cheapestflights.co.uk
www.airline-network.co.uk
Then we look at the individual tour operator flights, like Airtours, Thomsonfly, Monarch, etc. It is a slow and time-consuming business, but it is worth searching all the sites as we have yet to find one site that lists all the possibilities.

I always think flight prices are a bit like insurance premiums...they have no logic and can be completely different for different people traveling on the same days.
That said, the list above is a great starting point.

Hi Guys & Girls
I have been to Florida for the last 4 years and am off again next week(Cant wait). I have always booked a flydrive through skybargins.co.uk. I have spent hours and hours looking each time and always found these to be the best and also very efficent.
Hope this helps.

Just as a quick query on Skybargains, united, do you use their main page search engine or do you click on Florida and use their www.usbargains.co.uk section?

While i am on whats the weather like at the moment?

It is extremely pleasant right now, with temperatures in the upper 70s during the day but a bit cool at night (you'll certainly need a jacket or sweater for the evenings). It's very dry and sunny, though - the perfect antidote to early winter in the UK!! :D
