i just had to have a check and it told me 95 days 12 hours and 11 mins!!!!!!! not long to go but its too long. might change though as virgin already changed the flight time once they can do it again . when i went to miami in november the return flight time got changed twice and i ended up having to rebook my onward train journey from heathrow!

Today is 9th February. We fly out on 8th April. So, less than 2 months for us now!
The most important thing to get is Emma's passport renewed - I will be doing this in the next week at a post office via 'check and send'. It was ready to go today - until I noticed that the photo requirement sheet has a reverse side - and the pics I had ready don't qualify as she's got bits of fringe hanging over her eyes and there's a bit of shadow on the left side of her face. Typical! Means I'll have to do more and get my colleague at work to sign the back again.
I will be required to pay the deposit for the villa at the end of this month, and there's about £110 to pay on the hire car. Other than that, I have everything I need except my Universal tickets. ATD is the only place doing the 2-day Universal tickets - and they're still doing an extra day free! All that's left after that is buying La Nouba tickets if I want them (although I suspect that the show will be fully booked by now, it being Easter holidays and all that).
I think on reflection we'll get the balloon tickets once we're there - in case we decide we a) don't have enough money and b) don't fancy it after all. After all, £90 a head is a lot when we're paying £1000 a month just for our mortgage ...

Thats the best plan, we always go up day before and do twilight check in, too far to travel same day as flight and I would panic that wouldn't get to airport in time! We stay at Little Foxes where we can chill and look forward to hols! We have returned on 15th May a couple if times and find it a lovely time of year, good temps etc, Not quite so good now as have to travel during summer hols so busier and hotter and also alot more expensive!

You have about 30 miles more than us to travel then! I have heard there is a complex quite near to airport now that had a few restaurants like TGI's and a bowling alley, we usually go to a pub near the hotel but wondering now whether to give this a try instead.

Thanks Martin, might take you up on that nearer the time, seeing as you know the area so well. I'm originally from Devon worked in Exeter for a couple of years but a bit of a country bumpkin at heart although saying that I don't think I would move back to a little village now! Put us near Gatwick trying to find the hotel we always get lost, but then we manage to navigate our way around Orlando without too much bother! Might give that leisure park a try this time for something different to do. Our hotel is in Charlswood Road, Ifield Wood, Crawley, Would it be far from there?

We only live about 40 minutes drive from Gatwick. As we usually fly out on a Sunday lunchtime that's no problem. However, we can't risk delays when having to drive down there on a Tuesday morning during rush hour, so we're staying at a local(ish) guest house overnight as part of APH parking package. It works out only £12 more than doing our usual meet & greet with Maple Manor (I can highly recommend them). The best bit is, I noticed when I printed out my accommodation voucher last night that breakfast is included, so that'll save us about £15!
