Last year we used parkandgo - www.parkandgo.co.uk

They were cheaper than anywhere else we tried and their service was good. :)

My colleague swears by APH (who we're using this year as for £90 we get a night in a hotel as well as up to 2 weeks' parking).

Previously we've always used Maple Manor, which is a meet & greet service. Can't fault them, either - and at least you're there at the airport ready to go!

We use Park Plus booked through Parking 4 Less, always a good price with valet parking and only 2 minutes to the south terminal

If you are after a hotel the night before we have used the Litle Foxes Hotel near Gatwick which is excellent especially for family rooms.

I have also used Holiday Extras (www.holidayextras.co.uk) in the past and found them pretty good. As with most things, it is important to shop around on line and buy when you think you've got a good price.

I googled 'airport parking', and visited loads of sites - more than once! You have to be careful - some of the 'from' prices at the hotels are quotes for a bog standard double room. We need a family room with a double and a single. There are also family rooms with a double and 2 singles. The prices will vary accordingly!

Once I'd chosen my provider, I e-mailed them to get a few queries answered before going ahead with the booking: it's too late to cancel once you've already paid! I also noticed in the small print on my printed out accommodation voucher that breakfast appears to be included at the guest house we're staying at. That'll save over £15, so it all adds up!

thank you everyone, we don't live that far from Gatwick so we will not be needing a room. we have always had a lift before so have never had to use the long stay parking.
