Yes I saw that too but on the Virgin Atlantic website it is still being advertised so not sure. Perhaps someone here will know if it is true or not. I do hope not as that means we have got to lug our cases to our hotel and store them in the room overnight.
Maybe if its staffing issues it is only for a few days..........

Well that seems the typical at the moment for VH not to give info to their customers. Our flight times have changed both ways but I only found this out when I was on VA website and it wouldn't let me up date our details as wehave flight changes.

I do hope that the twi-light check in is resumed by April as hubby was looking forward to checking in early and then relaxing, so this may mean changing our plans

i agree pinkjoolz when i went to miami last november booked with vh i was looking at the seat map on vs site and i noticed my return flight to lhr had changed. i thought thats odd i rang vh and they said they had no knowledge of the change i cant believe that here i was the customer telling my travel company that the flights had changed. it is such poor communication betwenn virgin compamies. i will keep an eye on it i used to work at gatwick airport i will try to make some calls later and try to find out whats going on. i hope it changes as well soon

If it has been suspended indefinitely (I took a look on the v-flyer forum) - then why don't they post this info on the website it will make so much sense. Trying to get thru to customer services will be a nightmare as you only get thru to a call centre who then don't know the answers aargh:angry:

Is this at a particular airport, or both LGW and LHR?

tbh, as I'll be booking in on line before we drive down to our hotel, I can't really see the advantage in going up to the airport and paying for 1 hour's parking the night before.

I'm also a bit alarmed that they appear to be changing flight times. Again, is that all airports, or just LHR?

I tried to do online check-in but when I logged on to do so it wouldn't let me! Tried the night before and the morning of the flight. They encourage you to checkin online and give you 250 points for doing it! When we got to the airport (man) we tried kiosk check-in as a virgin rep was doing this, the seats she got were not our reserved ones and dotted all over the plane so we ended up checking in 'normally' when I asked what was happening I was told I couldn't do online check-in as Virgin had changed our seats. So 'reserving' our seats next to our friends was a waste of time as we ended up at the front of the plane and they were still in the original seats at the back!! It took us over an hour just to checkin. This was the first time with Virgin.

Oh ye Gods! I hope all this is a temporary glitch! I still haven't got our confirmation reference from our agents yet, and until I do I can't even order our special meals! It's far too late to do that the night before we fly!

I don't know what is going but having looked at the dibb and v-flyer it seems that twi-light check-in is still in operation.

The thing is where did the rumour originate in the first place?

I am not going worry about it now but I will contact Virgin in a couple of weeks before we go to check.

I rang Virgin (special needs) this afternoon to see whether our allocation had been passed over by the travel agents yet. While chatting, I asked her about this story going round about twilight check-in being suspended, changed flights etc. She seemed genuinely surprised, and said she knew nothing about it.

And this was a genuine English woman, too (not an Indian help line)!!

Had to ring Virgin again today, and I specifically asked about twilight check-in. She said they are definitely still doing it! It isn't run by Virgin staff, though.
