Hi all
Only 10 weeks until we go back to Orlando
Has any one booked to use the Virgin V-Room at Gatwick which opens 1st June. I was wondering if any of you thought it was worth the money (£15 for adults and £10 for kids)
it sounds ok on the Virgin website.
2002 - Disney Caribbean Beach
2003 - Private villa in Doral Woods
2006 - Private villa in Doral Woods
2008 - Marriott World Center resort

Hi mark,
Have heard lots of postive things about the v-room but never used it myself!
Have a great time and hope you enjoy and tell us more about the v-room if you decide to use it!:happy-thumb

As you point out it will open on 1st June (if there are no delays). Obviously nobody will have personal experience of it as yet but I managed to hustle complimentary access to the VRoom and i'm very much looking forward to it. I certianly like the sound of free food and drink, and the large screen TVs and gaming sound good too.

Hi there, We've booked the V-Room as we are travelling in July. Looks o.k. on the webiste - but dmrevis how did you manage to get it complimentary - that's unusual for Virgin!! but good on you!:happy-thumb
Will let you know what's the V-Room's like when we return in August.

thanks that will be great, an "independant" review from a traveller always holds more sway with me than the official pictures and press releases.
Not really too sure how i did it. I phoned Virgin Holidays when i was looking to book my holiday and found a price on their website. As i like to book with an actual person I then phoned Virgin Holidays who quoted me the same holiday for more. When i asked they agreed to better the online price, and throw in the comp access to the lounge to "seal the deal". Didnt suprise me as I'm sure that even though they are the same company they will be run in competition with each other, and of course the advisor i was speaking to was on commission so it was worth her getting me to book with her.

Well done - I always say if you don't ask you don't get. We were originally going to stay at the Disney All Stars, but because of a mistake made by Virgin on our booking we are now staying in the Beach Club Resort (at their expense!!) - What a result:happy-thumb.
Only have another 7 weeks and 4 days to go and I can't wait!!:mr-cool:purplejum
On a slightly different subject - we are taking 3 kids (ages 10, 16 & 16), does anyone know if they will ALL get the Virgin Airlines K-id back pack, not sure what the cut off age is for these? Even though they are 16 they still like to act like kids!!!

VH were offering complimentary access to the V-Room for all packages booked before the end of April (for travel up to April 2009) for Frequent Virgins.
We normally use the Clubhouse, but it was fully booked for our November date . We were offered the V-Room instead, even though we booked directly with VA (it's supposed to be exclusively for the use of VH customers). It doesn't have the free alcohol offering of the Clubhouse Lounge, but from what I can gather, it will have a cash bar. Given that it's £20 a head cheaper than the Clubhouse Lounge and it'll be brand new when we get to experience it, I'm looking forward to it.

Happy days! That's an upgrade and a half! You'll be literally 5 minutes walk from the International Gateway entrance to Epcot, 15 minutes walk (or a water-taxi ride) from DHS, and you'll have access to all the facilities of the Yacht & Beach Clubs as well as the BoardWalk. You'll see WDW in a whole new light. The one downside is that you'll never want to stay at a Value again. :happy-thumb

They'll happily give them to the 16 year olds if you ask for them - it's no biggy to them.

Hi UKDeb
Thanks for coming back on the K-id packs - that'll please the 16 year olds
Really looking forward to staying at the Y&BC. Looks really fantastic. It's been 5 years since we have been to WDW (or had any sort of holiday come to that), last time we stayed in a Villa - it'll be a real treat this time - especially as I'm celebrating my 40th b/day while out there. I wonder if Disney will help me celebrate in any way???

No problems. They are in the ATD community under the heading Trip Reports. I am not saying anything!!
