I doubt I would ever use this airline again.
Gatwick to Charlotte, Charlotte to Orlando
Orlando to Philly, Philly to Gatwick
A family of 4 with 2 young children allocated 4 separate seats dotted around the aircraft on the short flights. No joy at check in but lucky enough the cabin crew managed to get us 2 + 2.
All flights over sold so people were bumped off at last minute.
Long hall cabin crew grouchy and uninterested.
Late to take off due to the seat allocating/over selling of seats palavers. One family of 5 with boarding passes were kicked off the aircraft because their seat numbers were for the cabin crew !!!!????!!!
And the food wasnt up to much either.
And one headrest TV didnt work and the cabin staff couldnt have cared less.

Such a shame, this sort of thing bugs you for the entire trip. Hopefully you were able to forget about the outbound flight and have a good time before the flight home. I do think though this re-itterates my policy of only flying direct with BA or Virgin. Quality airlines and quality service whenever i've been with either of them.

Thats what I thought, we only went this way because Virgin was fully booked but we met someone on one flight who had booked with Virgin a year ago, a week before she was due to fly she was told they had oversold the flight and had shifted her onto our one!!

Yikes. That is definitely not a good experience - did you not have the facility to pre-book your seats on both the short-haul legs, Alex? We have flown US Air on internal flights a couple of times in recent years but the flights weren't full, so no big deal. If they can't offer pre-booking so you can sit together, it definitely sounds best to steer clear. :thumbsdow

Their website implied I could book up to 24 hours in advance which I did, by then all that was left were singles. Maybe I could have booked earlier but wasn't aware that I could. Naivety on my part assuming that we would be given seats together as we had 2 under 12s with us but in retrospect we were lucky compared to some.
18 year old in front of us with 2 younger cousins was bumped off the internal connection and left to fend for himself in Charlotte whilst their parents waited for them to arrive in Orlando!!!
I suppose its all about keeping prices as low as possible and still making a good profit but as an economy passenger its a lottery!
