I discovered that our seat requests had altered, 4 out of the 7 seats we had requested had gone. These were booked last year as soon as the date became available to book. We had row 33 A to G and when looked we only had 33 E to G with the remainder showing available, tried for ages to try and rebook them but no joy. Finally got through on the telephone and they were able to rebook them, sounds like they had a computer glitch. Just thought I would share the information just in case it has happened to others.

That's a worry, I wonder if it's affected all seat bookings?
Good job you checked yours.....

Also on the actual flight 3 people were complaining as they had pre booked seats and didnt get their choice the flight attendent did stress that although you can pre book yr seats they are not garenteed !!

They can never guarantee seats, because there may always be someone on the flight last minute with a greater need for a particular seat in which case they'll play musical chairs with the allocations.
I was told that the seats by the doors are bookable by anyone who's fit and healthy (no children) and they're £75. Make of that what you will!

They've put the Orlando exit seats up again have they? It used to be £50 to Orlando and £75 to LA. I wonder what I will be charged Friday when I go out to LA for work?
Basically Virgin try to sell the exit seats as a perk, but because of CAA and FAA regulations they have to have someone in each one for take off and landing. If they can't find enough mugs like me to pay then they will just allocate then to the next able bodied person to check in after a certain percentage.
If only I could work out when they start to do this I could save a fortune.:redconfus

If you book the exit seat try to get either the one on the aisle or the middle. The seat right next to the door is a half seat as I found to my horror on our first trip back from Florida. I was travelling with DH, who was sat in the middle exit seat ( as he is over 6ft), with my brother in law by the aisle, DS then 10 was behind me with my sister in law. I am quite tiny (5ft) but it was really uncomfortable, the seat is small and the bulk part of the door makes you swing your legs to one side, luckily I could put them on my husband. It was really cold there too my legs were freezing.:thumbsdow
Also DH got told that children could not sit next to the exit, he was cross but explained I was actually his wife! Scutttle away one very embarrased air steward.
