Does anyone know if Travel City Direct offer flights only?
I can only find flydrive prices on the internet.
If they do - what are they like compared to Virgin for eg.

I think they only do packages; either 2 weeks with hotel and car, or 2 weeks fly drive.

I'm fairly certain that TCD don't do flight only. However, you could do what a number of people suggest which is to book a flydrive with no car insurance, booking a car independently, if the economics work out right.

It's a long time since I used TCD, and my BIL last flew with them in 2005 (an experience he didn't enjoy!). But since then they have replaced their aircraft as they now use XL (who own TCD).

Ahhhhhh - so looking at XL would get me a flight price with TCD in effect then???!!! LOL!
Thanks for the info.
I'm starting to panic over the flight prices as I've watched the Virgin ones slowly creeping up over the last few weeks!

When are you planning to go?

Yes, TF is absolutely spot on. You can book flight-only through XL, and their website is on this link:

http://www.xl.com/flight/findaflight.aspx

Don't forget to check out the other charter operators - First Choice, Thomsonfly, Monarch, Thomas Cook and MyTravel - as they can also come up with a few bargains occasionally.

Last 2 weeks in May...........most flights aren't released yet.....got about a 2 week wait now! Have only had prices on Thomson and Thomas Cook so far.

Edited to add.........All Virgin flights have disappeared off their system this afternoon!!!! There's not a single date available! Wonder what that's all about????!!!!

You can book flight only with TCD but they do charge you a suppliment if you don't take their carhire, therefore it works out more or less the same price with or without the car! If you book flights through XL you will be on a XL plane, not a TCD one.
I got a Quote from them for next August and this is what I was told.
