Can't say I have - but I did used to work for the Sun, hence I know those deals were very popular. In terms of value for money, they are pretty hard to beat, but just remember it is £9.50, not £90.50!! :D

We've done a few in previous years when the kids were younger and we couldn't afford holidays abroad. We stayed at the sites in scarboro, bridlington, filey and grange over sands these were in caravans. We did stay at the prestatyn one in a chalet, it was liveable but I'm going back over 10years ago:eek: We had a great time and the kids loved it. We ended up buying our own touring caravan but due to DH's job didn't use it much and ended up selling it.
The worst one we stayed at was Blackpool the caravan was filthy and hadn't been cleaned but it was a private one and not a Haven one. The owners obviously had a dog!

We used to do these all the time before we bought our own caravan. We always had a gret time and did enjoy Presthaven. We often spent more than the £9.50 though by upgrading. I'm sure you'll have fun.

We are going to upgrade when we get there and as we are saving like mad for our dream hol to florida we are looking at ways to save in the meantime.
My husband worked at burnham-on-sea as a lifeguard when i met him whilst on one of the hols when i took the boys 4 yrs ago so i always have fond memories of them! :love2:

This sounds like a great family vacation. I will have to try it out this summer.

We have used Haven in North Wales and had nice clean accomadation. We mainly use it as a base and do not go in the bars etc on the site. We have also been to various Pontins camps and Butlins. We have found however that the clientel especially at Pontins has declined so now we book Holiday Inn Express, these are reasonable in prices especially if you book well in advance.

We used to have a caraven in Brean. The site was taken over by John Fowler which meant that it became a part of the Sun deal; I don't want to sound like a complete snob but that summer was one of the reasons that we didn't keep it up in the end. I am sure that some lovely families take advantage of these promotions but the ones that decended on our site... people drinking and running riot all night , parents that didn't give a monkeys what their kids were up to and the language around the site!!! I'm sure the bar profits were excellent that summer but for us the pool and club house became no-go areas:tut-tut:

I know what you mean Elaine. The last time I went to Pontins was at Blackpool, I took Edward for a weekend while Spencem was away working. It was horrible people coming back from the bars at what ever time were shouting, so sleep was disrupted:angry: Then to top it all someone at 4 in the morning was running around the camp singing and shouting, never again. I know my in laws go each Christmas to Pontins but sorry not for me.
