Hi louise!

I moved your question to its own thread so that it doesn't get buried in an unrelated post. :)

You'll want to take a light sweater, not for evenings so much (it should still be very hot next week!) but for the air conditioning in restaurants, shows, shops, etc. :happy-thumb

I find a zip-up fleece to be ideal - keeps you nice and snug and doesn't weigh a ton for when you just want to carry it. You shouldn't need it this time of year, but when it's been raining persistently for a number of hours, it does lower the temperature somewhat.

Word of warning though - don't keep your fleece tied round your waist and then go on a water ride! BIG mistake! Have you ever tried wringing out a dripping wet fleece?????

Mind you, you could always wait until you get there - and buy everyone Disney fleeces at Wal-Mart at ridiculously low prices!:laughing:

Nah. Universal is full of people walking round in Universal ponchos, Epcot ponchos are different than the Magic Kingdom ones, and so on. All these are basically whitish/clear plastic with a Disney logo of some sort on the back. There are also people with cheapie ones bought at local 99c stores; these can be all sorts of colours. I have green, red and clear. Don't recall seeing many yellow ones, to be honest.

My Busch Garden ones are bright yellow... don't know why they make them yellow cos you can't wear them on the Safari because the giraffes try to eat them!!! It looked fine at Busch Gardens but i am determined to wear it for the school run... not sure how that will look in the playground:confused:

At the end of the day it really depends what you are used to. I lived in the Highlands of Scotland so I'm never cold out there. I've been in November when most people where in wooly jumpers and i was fine in my shorts and t-shirt.
I always wear shorts and t-shirt, but take a light pair of trousers - combat style or the like, and a light jumper/top just incase it gets nippy. I just leave them in a bag in a locker. I always go with more clothes rather than less and work on the old addage "you can take off a layer if you get hot, but cant put one on if you dont have it."

We always took a change and used the lockers, not so much for the cold as for the fact that i don't like walking round wet after the showers and/or water rides

It's never occurred to us to use the lockers - can't think why! I think we'll definitely take that into account for next time. Are they one return only, or can you keep going back? Are they free or do you have to pay? The ones just outside the Men in Black ride at Universal are free - but extremely fiddly as they're fingerprint readers.

If you can keep going back, then it'd save lugging lunch around (if that's what we choose to do), bottles of water and all sorts.

The ones at sea world and Busch gardens and Aquatica are returners but from what i can remember the ones at IOA are not... very hi tec... you put your own code in etc. Can't remember at universal studios but i am sure Huw went back and forward for things and i am sure he'd have let me know if he had had to pay each time!!

The "free" ones are usually just for a limited time to ride the attraction then collect your things and go. If you over stay the time then you are charged. Disney Lockers are all paid for with a fee, plus a returnable deposit when you take back the key. Last time i was there is was $5 per day, plus $2 key deposit. Not bad for a whole day use of a licker.

ride lockers are definitley free for short period yes the men in black lockers are very fiddly have seen many people get stuff locked in accidently .Disney ones are pay lockers but you can come and go as often as you like great for heavy stuff.dont forget you can have gifts sent to the front gate to collect later on exit
