Just been looking online at my BA booking, having a play, putting in the advance info etc, and noticed this:
2 bags at 23kg each (max. bag weight 23kg) per adult / child
Hand baggage allowance Passengers travelling to and from UK Airports may take 1 bag, maximum size

Thats a lot!

Can't imagine myself and 2 kids managing 6 cases somehow!

I think that is alot, i believe its the same with Virgin. We flew with First Choice and (only) had 23 kgs each, and even with all the shopping that we did and managing 5 cases between the 4 of us on the return journey we were nowhere near the limit... not sure how anyone can manage 2 cases weighing 23kg each:confused:

I can :happy-smi
I will clarify, that i'm a tenpin bowler, and the balls aren't included among the sports equipment list :thumbsdow even tho, it's a massive sport in the USA.
I bowl with 14lb balls and alway's have a visit or two to the local bowl and the pro shop, as the ball's are roughly half price in the USA.
Also the pro shop owners are bowlers and know what they are talking about and take the time and trouble to get the drilling just right. Which is a huge bonus on my poor thumb. :happy-thumb

You'd be surprised what you can carry - if you need to! If you can attch your smaller suitcases to the bigger ones, you can actually wheel two 'piggybacked'. We went with 4 suitcases, 2 pull-along cabin bags and 1 backpack, and came back with all the above plus a large pull-along bag bought in Wal-Mart for $15 the night before. That was for the 3 of us.

Children's stuff is good because you can carry twice as much of it. My hubby has size 10 feet, and both me and Emma take a 3/4, so his shoes take up more than twice the amount our Birkenstocks do!
