 We have booked for Corfu next year and although a couple of people have mentioned that its the only Greek island not to spray for bugs i didn't take much notice. I have been talking to my friend today though who has just got back and her husband is in hospital with blood poisioning in his leg as a result of loads of bites:thumbsdow A couple of years ago i got ONE bite which went septic and i ended up with an ulcerated leg,( the whole calf) months of pain and talk of tissue grafts. It was 13 months before it finally healed. As such i am wondering how big a problem mossies are in corfu... has anyone been... are they as bad as people are making me believe? I do carry anti-histamines, antibiotics etc in case of a bite where-ever we go but wondering if it would be daft to go to an island where they are a known problem(its unlike me not to have researched properly). The travel agent said it wouldn't be a problem... but... do i trust her???

Never been to Corfu Elaine but mossies seem to like me as well. I have heard that Avon Dry Oil Spray is supposed to be good for repelling them, maybe worth a try? Anyone else heard of that?

My mom swears by avons skin sofltly stuff but it didn't work for me. My friend bought me some OFF back from Florida a couple of years ago which works for me.... I bought 12 bottles back in August (including the extra strength jungle formula) so i should have enough for a 2 week holiday!!!!! just can't help thinking it will be worth losing the deposit if i am going to end up suffering!
