You can certainly buy Huggies.

Whether you can buy the same brands in food/drink is another matter - what whatever you go for, it will be a lot cheaper!

Which baby food brand do you prefer? We have Heinz, Gerber and Earth's Best (just off the top of my head. Could be others, those are just the ones I can think of straight away).

I looked into this recently as Aptamil is the formula my grandson's on. It isn't sold in the US. It appears that Enfamil (http://www.enfamil.com/NGARsample/) is the closest thing - not quite as advanced, but pretty close.

Carefull on the milk thing - pre-mixed or even powdered stuff *may* cause problems at customs as it counts as dairy product, even the dry powder. Some get through with it, but i've seen many a mother in a fluster as its being removed from her case.

This type of thing is important.

You need to give the company a ring and ask them. Its made by Milupa. UK site is

or

www.milupa.com has the overseas details.

A doctor's note may help, but it may not. At the end of the day its still a dairy product, and fresh food is not allowed into the US.

Below is the general list of approved products from APHIS (part of USDA). Milk and dairy products aren't specifically mentioned as prohibited items (which mainly revolve around meat, fruit and vegetables) and so my guess is that powdered baby milk would be included under dried foods on the approved list. I would imagine that, provided it's sealed in the manufacturer's packaging, it shouldn't present a problem. I can't imagine it poses more of a risk than hard cheese (which is on the approved list). However, you do need to declare it on your customs form so maybe that's where people fall foul of the system and get pulled up. I do need to know the definitive answer to this question, so I've emailed the USDA and can apparently expect to receive a response within 5 days.
