Right now with the markets and economies as they are it's probably anybodies guess!

The tourist rate is about 1.66/1.7.

A web site for foreign exchange I watch suggests that the rate may go up in the coming week.

The bank I work for had the rate at 1.64 to the £ today...absolutely shocking!!!

EDIT: that was a drop of 6 cent from yesterday's rate. I seem to remember that the rate was around 2.02 to the £ only a few months ago...where did it all go wrong?!?!

I doubt if anyone can accurately predict what will happen on this score in the next few weeks and months. The whole financial world is in such a state of flux that no-one really has any firm idea of how things will go, and when. I wish I could be more helpful than that, but it is just a reflection of the uncertain state of things right now. I think we just have to go with whatever the rate is at the moment and try to see if there are any signs of a further downturn in the exchange rate to buy sooner rather than later.

My people, www.tegforex.com are doing $1.675 today - it was $1.7 2 days ago! Mind you M&S are down to $1.622 today, which really is appalling.

And yes, this is the rate exactly 5 years ago when we went to Florida for the first time (as a family).
