We were originally going to go th first 2 weeks in May 2011, but are now considering the forst 2 weeks in April. Is this in the midde of spring break?

Sadly, it does fall during Spring Break. Can you still choose the first two weeks in May? It's the calm before the storm and a great time to visit.

Early May is pretty much one of THE optimum times to visit Orlando, with a great combination of balmy weather (before the summer intensity kicks in) and lower crowds. April would still be decent weather-wise, but the crowds are much more severe through this period these days.

I would not recommend going there in the summer time, very humid. the early spring is the best time.

August isn't warm.... it's blummin' HOT!!!!!!

Thinking about 2010 ( refusing to consider that Huw won't have a job by then!!) Is it quieter in the parks over easter than the first weeks of August? ( which is when we went last year) Or we also have the option of going in early July cos both the kids are in exam years so will finish at the end of June, this appeals beacause the flights will be cheaper being term time but i think that's the main US holiday weeks...

Think the US kids do start their Summer break in late June (Susan may be able to give more info) but we did exactly that in 2002 after son finished his GCSE's. It was still very hot but I don't think it was as busy as Easter, and if you can get the flights cheaper then that would be a good option.:)
