Ordered one of Steve Munns Orlando 3rd edition maps on Saturday after reading about it in my Brit's Guide and it arrived Monday morning!
Very impressed with the detail and quality of it (love the fact it's rip-proof too!!) and am so pleased we decided to buy it instead of using the free ones! It even shows speed camera warnings for Sherbeth Road and has the toll charge amounts for the toll booths!
All supermarkets and restaurants are marked too.
Can't wait to get there now to use it!

Sounds as though there have been some significant additions. I'll have to get me one. :happy-smi-green

Being rip proof has got to be a good thing; i mauled mine so much ( and that was before we arrived) that it fell apart really quickly!

I got one last year, despite the fact I can find my way around without a map now, but it is a highly useful tool for pinpointing the shops and restaurants. For the cost it is absolute value for money (and almost a work of art )

Bought one last year but now considering getting another one even though like TF Alan knows his way around very well. Can anyone say whether the maps go out to the 27 now?

Hi,
No - the map doesn't go out to the 27. There's an arrow at the edge of the map saying to villas on Highway 27 and saying the Walmart on 27 is in that direction.

I saw a note from Steve Munns on another forum that said that he essentially concentrates on the main tourist area and that the inset map shows the villa communities.

Thanks for that, I did wonder why he didn't go out that far, now I know. The only thing is there are a lot of restaurants etc opened on the 27(Cagans Crossing and the shops near to Highlands Reserve) so maybe something he may consider in the future?

Ahhh - I never looked at the inset map sorry!!!
That DOES show the 27.....and also highlights a Walgreens, Walmart and Publix, but doesn't show all the restaurants etc that the main map shows.

Yes, Steve is pretty comprehensive (and accurate) with his work; we were very impressed when we saw his first map a few years ago and he has continued to upgrade and improve it ever since. We think his map makes an essential combination with the Brit Guide and we even refer to it ourselves from time to time. Truly, a great piece of work :happy-thumb

Cartography is one of those things that is a brilliant blend of science and art, oh and a great dollop of skill.

You are absolutely right mellymouse. We also thought it an excellent buy.
