Hi Laura,
It's a hard one to answer as it is each to there own!! It depends on so many factors also such as where you'd be looking at eating and how much you'd be eating etc etc The gifts and clothes also depend on how much you all like to shop!!
I can tell you that we only take slightly more than your amount, but there are four of us two adults, two teenagers, one being a spendaholic daughter wants everything, another being my OH who nearly killed us off with his shopping when we were there last time, and we go out for 3 weeks:happy-thumb
That said we got a better exchange rate back in 2007. are you looking at talking £2850 UK money so give or take $4500 if thats the case i would think you would be more then fine!! :D

Don't worry you will have plenty for 3 of you. I wish I could take that much ;) I'll be lucky if I have £800 between 5 of us :o !!

I think that you'll be fine. Don't forget if you seem to be running low on funds there are some seriously cheap places to eat(Cici's pizza comes to mind) and food in the supermarkets is considerably cheaper than here so you could throw something together and skip eating out a couple of times.
There are 4 of us and i don't remember spending more than $80 on any meal so i'm sure you'll be well covered with $1000 for 3 of you let alone £1000:happy-thumb
(not sure if its been mentioned before but you can buy refillable drinks cups at the parks which saved us a fortune on soda last year, You pay for the cup and then a small amount to refil but they will fill them free of charge with ice and water which we found we needed n the heat of the parks (though it was August when we were there):happy-thumb

To maximise your money there are a few things you can do food-wise.
1) if your hotel does not provide free breakfast then take some cheap plastic bowls and spoons and a box of cereal for breakfast. This can save about $20 a day.
2) Dont buy food from the parks if you can help it.
3) Make sure you find and use the multitude of coupon books availible in many of the gift shops on i-drive and the malls.
4) Buffet dining - all you can eat for a fixed price. You can fill up on one meal and snack the rest of the day
5) Eat "off peak" e.g a buffet meal 3pm-5pm will be much the same menu as prime time dinner times, but may be $5 per person less.
All of these will save you money which means by the end of the holiday you have usually saved enough for a treat - like a full service meal in a nice resturant or hotel, character meal etc.
