Christmas in Orlando - THREAD REVIVAL

Hi guys :)

I`m coming over for my 8th visit to orlando for crimbo,i was wondering whats it like attendance wise in the parks and also will i have to book a table in resturants for christmas eve/day.

How long is drive from orlando to the florida keys,i might hire a car and drive down there for a few days and can you reccomend anything on the keys for me to do

The parks are very crowded on Christmas Day itself - Magic Kingdom actually has to stop people coming in !! However, it's not actually a major holiday (thanksgiving is) so the dayus around Christmas are fine since Boxing day is a normal working day in the US.

Drive to the Keys ia LONG way - about 9 hours. We stayed at a place whewre you could swim with dolphins - Hawks Key Resort which was nice

Hi guys,

were going over for our 8th vist this crimbo too, it will be very busy, especially at the parks, we were there for the 4th july this year (and the last 5 years previous on the trot) and we noticed this year was deffinatly much busier than the last few years,

Were looking at booking a restaraunt now for christmas day, and may be giving the parks a miss on that day,

weve also done the keys, which is lovely but not that much too do, its a long long 6 hr drive (to key largo,) key west is great but the beaches have gone down dramaticaly, may be im a bit picky because i live on the costa del sol, but a lot of the locals were advising us not to swim in the sea as the cruise ships tip their muck out not a million miles away and it all floats back in, yuck. check out key west.com and click on their local rag, you can read the locals letters to editor and their always complaining about this,

we found clearwater and st petes beach nice and only 1 hour ish away, Miami is a buzz, and FortLaurderdale, But there a lot further, about 4 hours,

As you know i was there for crimbo 05 and it was great! long queues on christmas day of cause but apart from that it was great! :D
