Escape the madding crowd!  For a completely original and fresh take on New York; kick back aboard a glorious 82-foot vintage schooner and enjoy the Manhattan skyline at a more civilised pace?.

Built at the height of the roaring twenties, the Shearwater is currently the largest, most classic sailing yacht in New York harbour.  At 70 tons, she is twice the weight of most sailboats which results in an exceptionally comfortable cruise.  Her elegant design is a hallmark of bygone times when the city started to embrace the heavens and everything was conceived in exquisite detail.  It should come as no surprise to find that she has been used as a backdrop for many a glamorous photo-shoot and Time Out New York exclaims that a trip on her is "a sublime experience".  

All sailing itineraries depart from the North Cove Marina at the World Financial Center.

Manhattan By Sail ? The original cruise
Be treated to spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Brooklyn Bridge, as well as the famous skyline of course.  Be warned that time passes very quickly in such graceful and comfortable surroundings!

Departures:
Tour runs daily from 24 April -  17 October 2010 at the following times:
Monday to Saturday: 12.30pm and 2.45pm; Sundays: 2.00pm.

The sailing experience lasts around 90 minutes and includes one free drink (beer, wine or a soft drink).

Romantic and serene; Get ready to howl! The Full Moon Sail lasts 90 minutes and includes one free drink (beer, wine or a soft drink).
