"The NYC Waterfalls"
by Olafur Eliasson
Coming to New York this Summer: “The New York City Waterfalls”; a stunning temporary installation along the East River by renowned Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson.
This unprecedented piece of public art, consists of four monumental, man-made waterfalls at key sites along the shores of Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Governors Island. The tallest waterfall will be approximately the same height as the Statue of Liberty! And to add to the romance, after sunset they will be lit, providing a striking new element to New York City's impressive skyline.
Visitors will be able to view these 90 to 120-foot tall artworks seven days a week from mid July to mid October 2008.
If you would like to see the falls, choose the Full Island or Semi-Circle tours. Waterfalls will be located on the:
- Brooklyn Bridge
- Governors Island
- Pier 35 in Manhattan
- Piers 4&5 in Brooklyn
