Halloween Horror Night!!

Charlie
Visited: October 07

People come from all over the world just to attend this event - not just those on holiday! It is very popular and sometimes impossible to buy tickets once in Orlando, they sell out real quick ( especially on weekend nights). A Horror night ticket must be purchased separately as the event is not included on any other Universal or flexiticket pass, so get in early!

This is a fantastic night for the horror fan, although not so good for little children or the very squeamish! (As such, there are no child prices, everyone pays the same). Your heart will be pumping the whole time you are in the park - you just NEVER know what is around the next corner. You could be safe for only 4 or 5 steps...........if you are lucky!!

As Universal is the place for movies, you can imagine, the characters look very convincing! From the moment you enter the park, you will be scared. The entrance is hard to see because of all the dry ice( making it look like fog). As you enter, very scary characters will be jumping out at you and screaming, some with chainsaws (not real obviously). Most characters will be seemingly dripping with blood and there are others dressed in black suits that will follow you round the whole park, literally by your shoulders. They don't speak, just stare and make you feel very uncomfortable….

That’s not all though - there are people being hanged at the gallows, bodies hanging from spikes, blood oozing everywhere….
You should also take a trip in the haunted house if you dare! There is blood dripping from the ceiling, bodies behind bars trying to grab you and you will be chased by people with various weapons which look really convincing! Although you know they are not going to hurt you, I defy anyone to not feel scared, believe me, you will run!!

Everything in the park is transformed into horror. All the rides and shows etc. Only selected rides may be open.

There are some lighthearted bits, some shows can be quite entertaining. When I was there, my parents took part in The Price is Fright! hosted by Beetlejuice and Vanna White. Not sure how, but my parents won!! All the losers were covered in slime and dead beetles....yuk!!
There were also dance shows to entertain, so you can get away from the intensity of the horror.

Nobody is permitted to enter the park wearing costumes or masks. You will be turned away. You can be confident knowing any scare tactics are completely legitimate and performed only by employees of Universal Studios.

If you are brave enough to enter, then you are fair game to be terrorised!! Children, disabled people, there are NO EXCEPTIONS!!! You can ask individuals to stop scaring you, but they won't listen!! ( My little brother is disabled and in a wheelchair, he kept telling them all he wasn't scared. So, someone dressed as a ghost took his wheelchair from my parents and wheeled him round the park, he was oblivious until he turned round.....................boy did he scream................they kept on pushing!!! )

All in all an amazing experience and good fun, I have done it several times and would always do it again and again.

IF YOU ARE NOT SCARED, YOU WENT TO THE WRONG PARK!!!

I’ve noticed if you buy Universal Tickets in the US you have to pay a credit-card premium so it works out much cheaper to buy them on the internet in the UK. Also, certain offers are exclusive to the UK so you can get better and extended deals. The 7 days for the price of 2 is available to buy until the end of July in the US but the end of October in the UK. Something to think about when you’re looking for good deals.

I last visited Universal Studios a couple of years ago but since then they have but in some new rides but I am pleased to say that they still have my favourites like Back to the Future and Jaws.It is really nice to sit outside Mel's Drive Inn and watch and listern to the 50's music as I had my lunch. This is the first time we went to City walk and I really enjoyed that infact we had to go back another night as we didn't see it all. The first night we went to listern to Bob Marley music and it seems that on Thursday until Saturday there is a comedy club called Bonkez and it was really enjoyable. It really was a lively and busy area and we got talking to some people from England and they were having a great time to.

We had brought a Orlando Flex ticket and all this was included in the price.

We would certainly go back there again as there is so much to see.
