Yes, with temps likely to be in the 50s, they are not going to be a very attractive option!

They might be turning blue right now if they did The temperature reached a HIGH of 54F (12C) today and is now starting to go in reverse. The promised cold front has certainly come through with a vengeance, bringing the hint of the cold snowy weather they are experiencing just to the north in Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas. It is seriously nasty there (and even colder in the northern states), and it will get cooler still in the next 24hrs.

We did also get some rain; about half an inch in all, so not really substantial, but certainly we need all we can get. There were a few rumbles of thunder, but the heaviest weather passed away to the south and is currently over Miami and the Bahamas. We now have a Wind Chill Advisory in effect through to 8am tomorrow morning, with the actual temps likely to drop to around 40F (4C), but with a cold northerly wind that will make it feel more like 33/34 (just above freezing).

Definitely time for the thermal underwear, especially as the thermostat inside the house started out at 77F this morning and is already down to 72 (and it's only 3:30pm!).

It wasn't the most edifying spectacle, CL - many of the fans couldn't actually even SEE the field at times. This was the view ON the field!!!

Mind you, we've certainly had it cold enough here this weekend. We actually had FROST this morning ( ) and we haven't had any sign of that in more than two years. It's barely 50F (10C) by 11.30am and we've had to resort to putting the heat on inside! According to the latest forecast, we're not likely to get back above 70F again until Sunday (Dec 17), so we will definitely be breaking out the heavy coats, scarves and gloves this week!!

And they can throw the ball instead of kicking it!

True, kicking the ball in 6inches of snow might be a tad difficult I'll give them that....
