    Default Monorail

    Hi,

I know it's such an old transportation method and they are looking at improvements but we have been to MK twice since we arrived and both times not been able to get on the monorail.

We have arrived at the TTC around 08:15 both times, first time we were on the slope (which is hard work with a wheelchair), and they announced monorail was closed due to technical difficulties.
A few of us headed over to the ferry and we got lucky and just about got on one.

Today was different, we must have waited a good 20 minutes before getting on board a train whereby after 15 minutes further they announced the train in front had broken down and everyone was to head over to the Ferry.
The cue there was massive, I know a lot of people can get on but it would I imagine been at least another 30 minutes and still a while before we would reach the park.
We had already lost our first fast pass so in frustration headed back to car and to Disney springs and had our dinner at Raglan Road, really nice but hopefully on Thursday our next MK day will be better!

    Universal tomorrow.

We have noticed that a lot of the time the Monorail seems to have " technical difficulties" in the morning, maybe the drivers don't like waking up early

They were often only running the Ferries first thing in the morning last September and I seem to recall someone saying this was the norm

Technology has moved on and with the likes of the various apps, fastpass, das and more planning is becoming more essential.
If that is to be practical then Disney need to ensure their customers can get to the parks, at close to 100 each a day especially.
We were at the TTC for an hour today which is just ridiculous.

Hard to know with Disney and technical difficulties these days. It certainly seems to be a recurring issue, but if people are spending an hour (or longer) at the TTC that's definitely going to cause some ripples.

Always worth going to Guest services and pointing out the cost/benefit and you may get at least another Fast Pass or so?

The Transportation of the T&TC doesn't seem to be working well.

We got the monorail from the Grand Floridian to the TTC the week before last, only to find the onward monorail to Epcot wasn't functioning. Had we known, we'd have taken the bus from the resort.

FYI: From 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 16, 17, 23 and 24, monorail stops at the Contemporary Resort will be switched to the Express Monorail line. During this period, the Resort Monorail will shuttle between the Polynesian Village Resort, Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom only. The Express Monorail will make stops at the TTC, Contemporary and Magic Kingdom.

We've only ridden the monorail once and that was just to "ride" it so there wasn't a time issue but it broke down ... consequently when we've needed to get to the park we've always used the ferry (plus I do like the castle coming into view ), surely they will have to do something to upgrade the system if it's causing that kind of delay ???
