We toured this, in hard hat mode, earlier this year and it looks like a really interesting project:

Hard Rock International will open its fourth property in Florida, bringing the brand's well-known vibe to Daytona Beach in late 2017. The 200-key oceanfront Hard Rock Hotel will feature panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean and cater to the needs of business and leisure travelers. The array of amenities includes workout facility, spa, kids club, all-day dining, 24-hour in-room dining, coffee shop, swimming pool and poolside bar and grille. In addition, there will be 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space with bright meeting rooms and an open-air terrace suitable for meeting and special event needs.

The historic Streamline Hotel, an art deco-style property that once hosted the meeting that launched NASCAR – opened in May after being lovingly resotred to an upscale beachside boutique property. Its 44 rooms are beautifully appointed with a modern flair. Just off the lobby is Oliver's Hideway, offering hand-crafted cocktails and a trendy menu with a 'southern influence and a Florida local flair.' Take the elevator up to the Sky Lounge and enjoy the horizon and an open-air evening under the stars at the area's only hotel roof-top bar. Semi-private and VIP areas are available. The Streamline is truly one-of-a-kind.

In addition to these iconic properties, other major renovations in Daytona Beach include the Delta by Marriott Daytona Beach, expected to open in late summer, and the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, the area's largest hotel with more than 700 rooms and 60,000 square feet of meeting space, that just completed a $25 million renovation. Visitors will also enjoy two new hotels with a total of 250 rooms at ONE DAYTONA, a multi-millon dollar premier mixed use retail, dining and entertainment complex opening across from the Daytona International Speedway in late 2017. The first, the 105-room Fairfield Inn & Suites, will open this autumn during ONE DAYTONA's grand opening. It will be followed by an exclusive 145-room Marriott Autograph Collection® hotel called The DAYTONA, planned for 2018.

These additions – and an eclectic culinary scene, off-the-beaten-path attractions for thrill seekers and year-round cultural events – offer visitors unexpected delights on their Florida beach holiday. www.daytonabeach.com
