I have to say I'm also very impressed with how your lost case was handled on the plane and on arrival, well done Emirates.

Looking forward to reading the rest....
5 Trips to Florida, Christmas in LA, Disneyland Paris twice and odd days here and there.

All my trip reports are now HERE.

They definitely have done themselves proud.

The missing suitcase would be Maryís worst nightmare I think she worries more about that than flying hopefully it turns up ok . Mary likes collecting pandora charms from our trips thatís a cute one you picked up the only one we couldnít get was a charm from Grenada the shop was in the cruise terminal and we visited out of season we did an unofficial one online . The traffic sounds fun another joy of traveling especially airport transfers

We were fairly philosophical about it. With all the traveling we do, it was bound to happen sooner or later. If somebody had to mislay our luggage I preferred that it was my former employer. Not only do I know the ropes, but I still have plenty of inside contacts, too.

I used to collect them and then lost interest. When we visited the 9/11 memorial, I wanted a tasteful memento and that so happened to be a Pandora charm. Most of the charms on the bracelet that was started with this are related to travelling, but I have a swan on there to represent my job at a boarding school (Swanbourne House School), the Arabic tea pot to represent my job with Emirates and a cruise ship for my present job. It makes me smile every time I look at it.

Traffic can definitely be an adventure.

2 stand out things for me -
being told your case was not on the plane - this would not have worried me too much but I had images of my daughter being told the same thing - that would not have been a pleasant scene 😊.
The traffic darting about yet you still felt safe - amazing - not convinced I would have 😁.

It was not the most pleasant piece of news, but I worked for Emirates for 11 years and have dealt with various lost baggage issues as part of my job. If an airline has to mishandle our luggage, I rather have it be Emirates as I know precisely what the process is. They did a great job reuniting the suitcase with us. We were also pretty philosophical about this. We do such a lot of traveling that it is a statistical certainty that sooner or later something will take a detour.

I felt perfectly safe in Beijing, but was not quite so happy on the drive from the hotel to the airport in Shanghai. I may have said a little prayer or two on that particular journey.
