The latest news from the excellent family water park over at Daytona Beach:

Daytona Beach, Fla. (May 16, 2018) – Calling all thrill seekers and water ride enthusiasts! Daytona Lagoon, just steps away from The World’s Most Famous Beach, announced expansion plans are underway for its water park. Visitors will soon be able to climb aboard Daytona Lagoon’s new slides – a 54-foot-high mat racer slide and a thrilling pendulum tube water slide.

The new mat racer water slide, from ride manufacturer Arihant Water Park Attractions, will replace the once popular “Kraken’s Conquest” ride, which was severely damaged by Hurricane Irma last fall. The new four-lane attraction, featuring 100% Light Resin Transfer Molding (LRTM) and partial tunnels with translucent rings, will be a first for mat racer water slides in Central Florida.

“The natural light from the Florida sun will beam onto the enclosed slide tunnels for light effects of translucent colored rings with special pattern effects that leave the rider with the impression they are going through a high-speed time warp tunnel. Upon exiting the enclosed slide tunnels, the riders will enter an open straightway for an exciting race to the finish,” says Jim DeBerry, Senior Manager, North America for Arihant Water Park Attractions.

The fun and thrills continue with a new pendulum tube ride which launches from the same tower as the mat racer. The new pendulum slide is similar in shape to a half-pipe and is suitable for riders who are 42 inches or taller. Mississippi based Grady Grosslin of Millenium Aquatics and Maitland, FL based LBS Construction’s Larry Schnaper will be leading the project installation.

“Daytona Lagoon is a fun destination for the entire family. Our motto is ‘Family Fun, Family Priced’ and that’s exactly what we bring to Daytona Beach. We understand that local residents and tourists have many entertainment options, but Daytona Lagoon offers one of the most affordable parks with a great overall family experience. These new water slides by Arihant bring our expansion to the next level. Not only do we have an upgraded water park with these upcoming additions, but we’re also home to a newly renovated miniature golf course, go-karts racing track and a video game arcade with a large inventory of current and state-of-the-art games. We added an indoor ropes course last year and we are starting family ‘Dive-in Movies’ on various evenings this summer at our wave pool. Quite simply, we are constantly seeking new ways to provide that great family experience,” says Tyler Currie, General Manager of Daytona Lagoon.

Daytona Lagoon park visitors won’t have to wait long for the new water rides – the excitement arrives this summer!
