    Also from Travel Mole, no surprises on the favoured destination.

    The USA is the number one long-haul destination for British travellers this Christmas, according to Expedia booking data.

    The second most popular festive holiday spot is Thailand while Australia finishes in third.

    Those heading to the US and Australia are primarily travelling to be with family and loved ones (30% and 36% respectively), but 19% of those jetting off to Thailand will be travelling solo.

    Hopefully our publisher will see this and realise he doesn't have to worry about Thailand taking over from Orlando!

    From the conversations I have there are still many people who aspire to "the holiday of a lifetime" in Orlando.

    I hate to think how much our lifetime holiday has cost us since 1991!
