Default Cheapest / best car hire from Sanford

    Morning all,
Been a while since last post, hope all are well and looking forward to the coming year?

In the process of booking up for July and looking for suggestions on who best to use for car hire from Sanford airport?
I have traveled to Orlando many times and apart from the first time when i used Dollar i have always used Alamo (BRITS).

I'm finding their pricing to be rather high this time around and really looking to shop around for alternatives
Therefore any suggestions and maybe hints at who best to use and/or avoid based on your experience will be most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Dave.

    Hi Davidc and welcome back.

You are right about car hire prices at the moment, they are quite high, partly I imagine due to the dollar rate.

I much prefer Alamo as you can chose the car you want (in the class you hire) and at Orlando you can skip the counter and go straight to the garage. I'm not sure this latter facility is available at Sanford, but someone else may know.

TBH Alamo Brits has nearly always been my first choice, but this time round I've found that they very expensive. Other options are Netflights Car Hire (https://www.netflights.com/car-hire), UScarhire (https://www.uscarhire.com/) and Usrentacar (https://www.usrentacar.co.uk/).

Having said that the best deal I've found so far is with Discount Florida Car Hire (http://www.discountfloridacarhire.co.uk/).

Mu other advice is to surf around the various options over a period of time and see how the prices go, as they are up and down all the time. Most of the agents allow you to cancel for free (just check before you book) so if you see a better price just book again and cancel!

Another good place to check is https://www.rentalcars.com/. We've used them quite a few times now as they have worked out the cheapest for us.

I would note that using a cash back site also can reduce costs. We have used a Holiday autos a lot recently but on our trip just passed e-bookers came in the cheapest.
One thing to note is that many sights, even if you pay, allow you to cancel and full refund. That’s what we did this year, locked one in at a gooŁ price then found one that was cheaper and with 10% cash back, saving more

Thanks for replies, looks like currently netflights are the cheapest for what i'm looking to hire but keeping a watch over the next 2/3 weeks before booking.
