Default This is a fascinating read

I came across this link over the weekend, it is a piece by CNBC on "A Disney World ticket was $3.50 in 1971—here’s how much it cost the year you were born".

All I can suggest is you read, gasp and blink!!

Yep I know it is hard to compare the park of 2019 to that in 1971 but even so!. And remember the cost of car parking has risen in tandem. When we first went in 1991 car parking was $4, this year it was $25.

    And groan

Yes, there's a LOT to digest there! We've charted the prices (for things like souvenirs, T-shirts, basic meals and parking) over the last 25 years in the Brit Guide, and it is amazing to see what areas have gone up the most.

(1-day) Ticket prices have gone up 320%; a typical burger, fries and coke meal is 284% more expensive; a T-shirt will now set you back 147% more (not bad value, really), but PARKING is now 500% more!!!

    But the magic? Priceless!

    Okay, not priceless, but still....

What is interesting is that between 81 and 82 the price went up by 58% in one year. Now I know they were struggling to finance EPCOT big time and that I think a big recession/very high inflation (inflation between 10 to 13% at time) was under etc way but 58% in one year, ouch!
