Default Who has stayed where!! (rest of Florida)

Please let fellow ATD member see where else you have stayed in Florida.

Reccommend a hotel in Clearwater, Naples or Sarasota.

Again please try to include cost, location information and if possible a website link.

    Default Fort Myers Beach

In 2005 we stayed at the Diamond Head Beach Resort on Estero Boulevard, located on the beach. The Diamond Head is a 12 floor all suite hotel, overlooking the Gulf. It is within walking distance from the 'centre' of Fort Myers Beach and a range of restaurants. Sanibel and Captiva Islands and Naples are all within driving distance.

The hotel is well appointed, clean and a very enjoyable place to stay on the Gulf Coast. It has a good restaurant serving breakfast and dinner, as well as beach/poolside Tiki bar. Ideally located for watching sunsets!

    Default Florida Keys - Islamorada

Also in 2005 we stayed at the Chesapeake Beach Resort, close to mile marker 83.5, in Islamorada. The hotel is a series of low-rise buildings, either with ocean or garden views. It is a quiet resort with well appointed rooms, and in our experience, pleasant and attentive staff. While there is no onsite restaurant a buffet breakfast is served daily in a tiki hut next to the small harbour.

The hotel is well situated for access to the upper and lower keys, including Key West, the Dolphin Research Centre and Theatre of the Seas. There is an good choice of restaurants within driving distance, many featuring as you would expect sea food.

Have also stayed in the Holiday Inn Hollywood Beach, between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Hotel was nice enough, on the beach, with good sized and clean rooms, but don't particularly recommend Hollywood Beach.

    Seaside Inn, Sanibel Island

Small quaint property, but well kept. We had a Gulf front room which was huge, 2 queen beds, table/chairs. bathroom and small kitchen area (sink, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, fridge, crockery and cutlery). Screened balcony.

Hotel also had a nice pool, free beach loungers and umbrellas and pool towels.

Hotel had no restaurant, but every afternoon a breakfast basket was put in the fridge.

    Would definitely recommend this hotel.

    Sirata beach resort St Petersburg

hotel with great, had nice restuarant and rooms were good size. We stayed in a beachfront room so it was a bit more expensive. Great location and also has a steakhouse right on side of hotel.

rooms were about $200 a night for beachfront room but your balcony is right on the sand.

we are looking to stay again next year.

We spent a night at the Holiday Inn on India Rocks beach. Paid $95 for a 2 double bed room, but got upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite Hotel was nice and food in the restaurant was exceptional but the area itself seemed alittle tired
