I'd love to see more of Florida. We've been to Miami, but only for a night following a Caribbean cruise. We also flew in and out of Miami last year and stopped overnight at Palm Beach Gardens en-route to Orlando. The Keys appeal to me, but friends who know me well tell me that Captiva and Sanibel are more my thing. I fancy Naples, too. Oh, we've stayed a couple of nights in Vero Beach, too.

In 2005, we did an East Coast road trip, starting in Washington DC, driving down through the Appalachians (Sklyine Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway) and stopping a couple of nights in a log cabin in Boone. Then on to Charleston for a couple of night, then Savannah and ending up in Orlando for 16 nights. It was nearly a month in total. Probably our best trip ever. We fell in love with DC - so much nicer than New York, IMHO. We'd like to do a West Coast road trip before too much longer. I want to do California (for obvious reasons), San Francisco, Solvang, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and the Napa Valley. I'm not too fussed about Las Vegas, although lots of people tell me I'd love it.

We're also planning a trip to a friend who lives in Tulsa which will incorporate touring much of the stretch of the historic Route 66 which was the inspiration for Cars. The fictional places are based on a lot of real towns near her.

OK, thanks, Leonie. I'll do some research and add it to the list.

Leonie, I can find references to it, but as far as I can see, it doesn't have its own website.

Oh, is your list only for websites?

I didn't check - do you have the No. 1 Chinese restaurant on your list? It's on the 192 just past the John Young Parkway, but the address isn't the 192, it's a side road running off. It does have its own website, too.

As you may have seen from my trip report we did Sanibel and Captiva this April. We thoroughly enjoy it, it's a beautiful, relaxing place, perhaps even better than the Keys?

    Default Wow!

I'm actually shocked as to how many places there are to eat at this place! I can't wait to go with my bf and some friends. Looks suitable for all age groups and definitely a magical experience indeed. Reminds me of the time when we went to Thorpe Park during a holiday around London - you were confronted with food at every point!

You haven't heard the half of it yet, Cath! There are more than 4,000 places to eat in Orlando - more than 100 in Disney World alone!!! It's hard to get a bad meal and the choice can be completely overwhelming - but lots of fun!!
