The two of you can make a journey 800ft skyward to The Shard’s open-top viewing platform on Level 72, where you can take in panoramic views over the sprawling city and beyond. Soak up the sights at your leisure, stretching out 40 miles in every direction, before making your way to the champions of Britain’s tastiest tradition, Fortnum & Mason.
Seated in the Royal Exchange’s spectacular central courtyard, you’ll dine on finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and patisseries, accompanied by your choice of tea blend. Round things off with a glass of chilled Champagne.
What happens on the day?
Your ticket for two adults to The View from the Shard should be pre-booked, shortening the time spent in queues. The two of you can enjoy the experience at your leisure, queue and crowd free with no time restriction on your visit. You’ll take the elevator up to floors 68 and 69 and if you’re feeling adventurous, head up to the open-top viewing platform on Level 72. 800ft in the air, you’ll get unparalleled views over the city and beyond.
When you arrive for your afternoon tea, you’ll be warmly welcomed and shown to your pre-booked table in The Fortnum’s Bar & Restaurant at The Royal Exchange. Sit back, relax, and soak up the surroundings of the spectacular central courtyard, before tucking into exquisite sweet and savory delights with a glass of chilled Champagne.
The View from The Shard
Entry can be booked from Wednesday to Sunday at an allotted time.
To reduce queues and ensure the best possible visitor experience for everyone, admission to The View from The Shard will only be valid on the date and time stated on your ticket once a booking has been made with Virgin Experience Days Ltd.
The last entry varies depending on the time of year - please check for exact timings when booking. Bookings can be made between 24 hours and 4 months in advance, subject to availability, with a valid voucher.
The Voucher has a voucher number and a pin number which needs to be quoted when booking. Your e-ticket, which will be sent as confirmation of your booking, will include a multi-digit order number to gain access to the attraction or The View from The Shard ticket.
A standard visit lasts approximately 1 hour, allowing ample time for you to relax and enjoy the city skyline at your leisure as there is no time restriction on your visit.

This experience is available Monday to Friday from 3.00 pm to 4.45 pm, throughout the year. Exclusions may apply.

- The View from The Shard: For the purposes of entry:
- Adults are deemed to be over 16
- Children are deemed to be between 4 and 15
- Children aged 3 or under are admitted free of charge
- All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult
- There is disabled access to The View - please check for full details at the time of booking
- Tickets for The View from The Shard are non-transferable and non-refundable.

- Cancellation Policy: Experience vouchers can be cancelled with a full refund if cancelled within 30 days of purchase. Experience vouchers are non-refundable after 30 days of purchase and 100% cancellation charges will apply. Please note: A refund cannot be given for a Voucher that has been partially used.
